The deadline for entries is Monday 21 July 2025 and the competition will begin on Sunday 29 March 2026. The final will see the three finalists conducting the Hallé in a concert at The Bridgewater Hall on Tuesday 31 March 2026. The winner will be announced after all three finalists have conducted a vibrant selection of music set by the panel.

The competition celebrates the innovative partnership between the Hallé and Siemens AG, a global technology powerhouse, that has been developed over the last two decades. The inaugural competition took place in 2020 with the winner, Delyana Lazarova, going on to an international career whilst also securing significant roles with major symphony orchestras in the UK and USA. The current winner, Euan Shields, is using his experience to establish himself as a rising star in the conducting world, receiving praise for his emotionally charged performances, technical skill, and a passion for collaboration.

The Hallé
Innovation has been central to the Hallé since its foundation in 1858 by Sir Charles Hallé, a true pioneer. His fundamental belief that music should be for everyone remains central to the orchestra’s vision today, yet the Hallé is much more than just a world-leading symphony orchestra. Its collective spirit can be felt in the variety of communities it embraces, the diversity of the ensembles it nurtures and the array of different concerts it offers. Kahchun Wong has opened a new chapter in the Hallé’s history as Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor.
The Siemens Arts Program
The Siemens Arts Program operates mainly in the areas of music, visual arts and cultural education and provides a platform for the company's own arts and cultural projects. One key objective of the program is the global support of excellent young artists. This is done through internally initiated competitions to find new talent and by networking young artists with established international cultural institutions (ARD Music Competition, Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker, Bavarian State Opera, Carnegie Hall New York, Salzburg Festival)
